Taken from a an email by Tiana Sabater about our dear friend Abigail Stisin:

I have just spoken to Abi & Nuria's mother (Rosa) and just went through a wave of shock, but only partially. Firstly I asked about Abi. She came back 8 days ago from India and is in the Carlos III hospital with Malaria, she just came out of Intensive Care (yesterday) and has been extremely ill. I have tried reaching her but the call was not taken so I left a message on her answering service with my cell number. Here is her number if you wish to contact her 670 22 88 22. The second shock came when she mentioned that her daughter, her LITTLE DAUGHTER is now 15!!!!!!!!! Shit, what happened!!!!!
Also spoke to Nuria Stisin (her cell phone 639 91 70 52 ) and her email address elbaleario@usa.net . She has a spa business and has been at it for the last 6 years. Married for 10 years and 4 kids, living in Barajas (Madrid) and happy as a lark, like always!!!!! I'll check out her email and add it to the list.

Will keep on trying to speak to Abi and will let you know when I have some news.

This Week in Drama!

Mas Drama!

Si, si, hay mucho mas drama esta semana!

Buenas noticias first: Beatriz Misrahi, Mary Ann Voli and Uberta Zambelleti have been tracked down! We have also consolidated our Runny lists so we have around 30 names and emails now (although some members did not respond to the emails).

We also have 3 major programs that are gonna unite Runnys (I'll leave the 1900-sex chat til the end).

1. Orkut (A google-based program that keeps track of friends and communities - by invitation of "Willy" Castello Branco only - so far Tiana, Ousama and me are on it. There is a Runnymede "community" section so sign up slackers!).

2. MSN Messenger Program (Need I say more? Just share your handles).

3. SKYPE (Excellent internet phone program at www.skype.com allows people from all over the world to talk free. "Willy", Linda Hall, myself and others have signed up, sign up too).

Don't forget there is 25th Runnymede Anniversary on the 18th of June in Madrid. And another much larger and elaborate one planned for 2007.

Welcome to the Blog: Ye Olde Runnymede

Dear Friends,

The last few days, a group of friends (after 25 years) - simultaneously energized and soaked with nostalgia - have decided to touch base with each other. Everyone has moved on in life, some married, some remained in Spain, some pursued their fates elsewhere, but no matter where and what we ended up doing, the last few days have been a real homecoming of sorts.

In many ways it's been astonishing to realize how people in their 30s were so alike to their childhood selves; certain characteristic traits have always been ingrained in us. People who usually - for whatever reason - were guarded and a tad cynical towards friendships in general, immediately dropped their emotional defenses when they realized they were dealing with an old Runnymede friend.

We have all been through much the last 25 years: emotional and professional highs and lows, for example, but here we at the other side of the spectrum, ready to reengage with our old friends.

The last few days we have built an impressive network of former Runny friends including Tatiana Sabater, Michel Deshapelles, Amelie Orssich, Ousama Abdelrahman, Vicky De La Calva, Margarita Castro, Michael D'Lugo, Samantha Penalver, Guilherme Castillo Branco, David Leeland and Sherin Saadallah.

We are still hoping to hear from many of our old classmates. If this Blog can unite us and bring forth not only our friends but other Runnymedians, then it truly will be another miracle of the internet.
